Huawei P30 Pro experience: SLR faces a severe test!

When Yu Chengdong of Huawei showed the maximum 50x digital zoom and periscope camera on the stage, there were bursts of surprise and even despair at the scene. Most of the comments made by the on-site media at that time were "this is not a mobile phone, this is a camera", "cameras are not good, beyond cameras". Indeed, according to the on-site demonstration, the P30 series has taken the top position in the field of mobile phone photography, and even the image evaluation agency DxOMark is its platform.

After the meeting, we also got the Huawei P30 Pro. Is its photo really like what was said in the press conference? After one night's experience, I would like to talk to you about it.

Appearance: structural light is missing, color matching follows the trend

The appearance of P30 series can be seen as the integration of P20 and Mate 20. It still maintains the slender body of P20 on the whole, but introduces the curved screen design of Mate series on the screen.

The top of the fuselage uses the design of the pearl screen. The official parameter P30 Pro shows that the "pearl" is only 6.64mm wide, and the overall design is symmetrical. The front fingerprint of P20 at the bottom is cancelled and replaced with the optical screen fingerprint. In addition, the P30 Pro is more extreme. It uses sound generation inside the screen without exposed earphones, which makes the body more concise and the screen occupies a larger proportion of digits. Although the bottom frame is not the same width as the top, it is very good compared with other brands of "frame running aircraft carrier".

The P30 Pro uses a 6.47 inch screen. With its slender body and nearly 6.5 inch screen, it is not easy to operate with one hand. Ideally, it should be operated with two hands. Hopes that Huawei can introduce the half screen pull-down function later.

The back of the P30 Pro is the focus this time. First, let's briefly talk about the parameters. The P30 Pro uses a 40 million main camera, 20 million wide-angle and 5x optical zoom lens. As the 5x optical zoom lens adopts periscope structure, it is a square in the shape of the camera, which may be due to coordination considerations. Last year, P20 was the "exclamation point!" on the Pro, and the design did not extend to P30 Pro. In addition, the TOF camera was placed separately in the flash lamp parallel.

This P30 series color matching is what I want to praise most. Starting from P10, Huawei has almost followed the "Pantone Pop Color" in the color matching of the body. For example, the colors of grass and tree green and electric purple can be seen on Huawei's P series mobile phones. This year's popular color is coral red, and P30 series also has a corresponding red tea orange color matching, which is redder than coral red, but it is orange under the refraction of light, which is very pleasing.

I got the color matching called "Sky Realm". It's hard to see what color it is from its name. In fact, when taking pictures, we also found that "the sky" has no fixed color. It presents different colors according to different lights, just like the Bolivian salt lake reflects a variety of colors.

The cheers at the press conference were enough to prove P30's success in taking photos this time. P30 Pro adopts 40 megapixel super sensitive camera (wide-angle, f/1.6 aperture, OIS)+20 megapixel super wide-angle camera (f/2.2 aperture)+8 megapixel super zoom camera (f/3.4 aperture, OIS)+Huawei TOF (Time of Flight) camera.

The official P30 Pro has a 1/1.7 sensor the size of a portable camera and is equipped with dual anti shake OIS and AIS. It is said that it will have a better effect when taking pictures at night.

In addition, Huawei broke the tradition of RGB (red, green, green and blue) and used RYYB (red, yellow, yellow and blue) sensors. Huawei believes that the latter can increase the light input by 40% through two yellow pixels. ISO up to 409600.

I used the Huawei P30 Pro to shoot the Eiffel Tower with wide-angle, standard, 5x optical zoom and 10x hybrid zoom. The effect is as follows:

The light of the overall night scene is well controlled, and even the lines of cars on the street are very clear. Due to the wide-angle shooting, there is a little distortion on both sides, but it is within the controllable range.

Under 5x optical zoom, the sense of smearing is still obvious, but the noise control is much better than expected.

Although the painting feeling of the picture is heavier than when it is 5 times heavier, the main body can be clear and the effect is very good when holding the 5 second night scene shooting.

This time, P30 Pro achieved 50x digital zoom, and after the meeting, it also tried 50x effect. Although the smearing feeling is obvious, this should be the strongest camera focus in the mobile phone.

The handheld night scene has always been the advantage of Huawei mobile phones. The handheld night scene of Huawei P30 Pro takes 5 seconds to expose. Through multiple composition, the dark details are brightened. On the whole, the sharpness is high and the effect is good (the sample quality is compressed).

After 100% magnification, the overall details of the picture are still there, and the patterns on the roof are also clearly visible. However, the long exposure also has some disadvantages. When I took a night scene into the evening, the picture was distorted.

P30 series also supports 2.5cm macro effect on Mate 20 series. In terms of photographing experience, I think it will be more fluent and focus faster than the previous Mate 20.

Compared with the previous functions, weak light shooting is another advantage of the P30 series, which is also called "night vision device" by netizens. I use the Samsung S10 and Huawei P30 Pro for comparison.

In a weak light environment, Samsung and Huawei have the same effect. We turn off all the lights, leaving only a weak light source, and then see the effect.

The effect is already obvious. Samsung can hardly see anything under the same light source, while the P30 Pro can take pictures of the general appearance of the house with the long exposure mode.

Finally, let's talk about the TOF camera on P30 Pro. In fact, TOF is nothing new. Last year, Ov had concept products and commercial products. The TOF used by Huawei replaced the "structured light" of Mate 20 and placed it in the rear. Accurate scanning and shooting will be carried out in portrait shooting and large aperture shooting. From the actual shooting experience, the focusing speed and the blurring edge are relatively excellent.
