The mayor of Croatian Seni, Yulica Tomlyanovic, said in an interview with Xinhua News Agency recently that the Seni wind power project contracted by China North International Cooperation Co., Ltd. (referred to as North International) provides stable clean energy for the local area, creates many employment opportunities and actively integrates into the local society, which is a model of cooperation between Croatia and China.

He said that since the Seni Wind Power Project was officially put into operation in December 2021, the green power provided annually can meet the power demand of more than 100000 households, effectively alleviating the power shortage in Seni and even in Croatia. At the same time, the project construction contributes to the economic growth of Seni, helps the local construction of roads, bridges and other infrastructure, and is of great significance to improving the well-being of Seni people and urban development.

Tomlyanovi ć said that more than 40 Croatian companies participated in the project construction. At the peak of construction, there were nearly 500 engineering technicians on the project site every day, more than half of whom were local employees. It is understood that there are still many local employees working in Northern International Zagreb Branch, more than Chinese employees.

"This fully proves that Northern International has great trust in Croatian experts and employees and can be regarded as a model of good cooperation," Tomlyanovic said.

He said that the construction and operation of the Seni Wind Power Project focused on environmental protection, and all construction met the strict environmental standards of Croatia and the EU. In addition, Northern International pays attention to integrating into the local society and actively participates in the festival activities in Seni, which has been recognized by local residents.

Tomlyanovic told reporters that local people are very grateful to Chinese enterprises for helping Seni develop. The Seni Wind Power Project and Croatia Peleshac Bridge and other cooperation projects prove that Chinese enterprises are Croatia's high-quality partners, and more Chinese enterprises are welcome to invest and start business in Croatia.

The Seni Wind Power Project was commenced in November 2018 and officially put into operation in December 2021. It can provide about 530 million kilowatt hours of green power every year, providing power for Croatia to promote energy transformation and develop green economy.
