Since the establishment of Xiamen Free Trade Zone, the members of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and the CPPCC members at the municipal and district levels have been acting.
In recent years, members of the CPPCC Haicang District have submitted more than 10 proposals around the high-quality development of the Free Trade Zone. In May 2023, many departments in Xiamen jointly issued Several Measures to Support the Development of Cross border E-Commerce Industry in Xiamen Area of China (Fujian) Pilot Free Trade Zone (2023-2024), which will contribute to the production and operation in Xiamen Free Trade Zone, the economic development of Xiamen Free Trade Zone, and the cross-border e-commerce platform operators and regulatory sites with independent legal personality Cross border e-commerce enterprises and other key players in the industrial chain are supported. Xia Xianpeng, member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and chairman of the Fujian Provincial Committee of the National Revolutionary Movement, submitted the proposal of "Suggestions on Supporting the First Trial of Tax Preferential Policies for Xiamen's Cross border E-Commerce" during this year's two sessions of the National People's Congress.
