Recently, the pace of returning to work and production in many European countries has been accelerating, and the demand of local people for bicycles has increased significantly. With high cost performance and efficient supply capacity, Chinese made bicycles have been sold well in Europe recently, meeting the travel needs of local people during the prevention and control of COVID-19.

"The epidemic is not over yet. Compared with other modes of transportation, bicycles are more and more popular because they are environmentally friendly, lightweight and can maintain a certain social distance." Olivia, a Roman citizen, said, "Bicycles made in China are reliable in quality and affordable, and many people around are using them."

According to the statistics of the China Bicycle Association, the annual production of bicycles in China accounts for about 50% of the world's annual sales. By the end of last year, China had exported more than 1 billion bicycles, electric bicycles and e-bikes to 160 countries and regions around the world.

According to the data released by Alibaba's cross-border e-commerce AliExpress, compared with the same period last year, the bicycle sales of AliExpress in the Spanish market increased more than 22 times in May this year, and in the Italian and British markets increased about 4 times. The website of Veneto Economy in Italy reported that Chinese bicycles occupy an important share of the market, and half of the bicycles sold in Italy are from Chinese manufacturers.

The bicycle subsidies and policies to encourage people to ride issued by some European governments have also promoted the increase of bicycle sales.

The Italian government has approved to provide consumers who buy bicycles with a "green" subsidy of 60% of the price of bicycles, with a maximum subsidy limit of 500 euros. Urban residents with a population of more than 50000 can enjoy this subsidy; The French government has formulated a fund plan of 20 million euros to provide transport subsidies of 400 euros per person for employees who commute by bike, and 50 euros per person can also be reimbursed for bicycle repair costs; The municipal department of Berlin, Germany, re planned road signs, expanded temporary bicycle lanes, and restricted motor vehicle drivers to park on bicycle lanes.

"China's bicycle industry chain is complete and the technology is mature, and the products produced have high cost performance and advantages, which are popular with consumers." Ismail Kaka, owner of a bicycle shop in Frankfurt, Germany, said that bicycles and other "made in China" products continue to be exported to countries, playing an important role in meeting the needs of local people for epidemic prevention and supporting countries to resume production.
