Ethiopia International Building Materials, Hardware and Sanitary Ware Exhibition is a leading exhibition in Ethiopia's construction industry. The exhibition is held once a year, with more than 100 enterprises participating, including many industry giants. They are from Turkey, Ethiopia, Kenya, India, Egypt, China, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Sudan and Italy.

Exhibits of exhibitors mainly include: aluminum, doors and windows, PVC, door locks, glass products, marble, cable ladders, lamps, switches and sockets, water pumps, bathroom, coatings, waterproof materials, plastic molds, etc. The exhibition will provide an international trade platform for exhibitors from all over the world, and it is an excellent opportunity for enterprises in the construction industry to expand the African market.

Ethiopia is located in the northeast of Africa. Its capital is Addis Ababa. It is the headquarters of the African Union (AU) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa. Ethiopia is successfully transforming into a regional business center due to its convenient business environment and stable national government. The country generally lowered import tariffs and even duty-free imports to 19 South East African countries, which will create potential business opportunities for 4 million people.

On the basis of African standards for products, Addis Ababa provides a better business environment not only for local but also for overseas business partners. The city's construction industry is booming, such as high-rise buildings, shopping malls, etc., which are being built in more and more cities, including many luxury services and related equipment.

According to Africa's Rhythm released by the World Bank in 2013, in the next three years, the average economic growth rate of sub Saharan African countries will be higher than 5%, which will greatly exceed the global average economic growth rate. According to the report, in 2012, about 1/4 of African countries grew by more than 7%, of which Ethiopia, Sierra Leone, Niger, Liberia, Burkina Faso and Rwanda led the world in economic growth.

Ethiopia's 2013 GDP PPP has reached US $118.2 billion, with a GDP of US $47.3 billion, ranking 7th in Africa and 69th in the world. Ethiopia has become the 7th largest economy in Africa. With the gradual improvement of the global economy, the continuous rise of commodity prices and the increase of investment in regional infrastructure and trade, Africa has strong medium-term growth expectations. In recent years, China's bilateral trade with Ethiopia, especially China's export to Ethiopia, has shown a sustained and rapid growth trend.

As the second largest exporter in Africa and one of the fastest growing African countries in recent years, the fact that Ethiopia's imports from China have increased year after year makes Ethiopia an important export market in Africa. Since 2002, China's export to Ethiopia has been developing at a sustained high speed. With Ethiopia's increasing efforts to attract foreign investment and large-scale infrastructure construction in recent years, China's investment and contracting projects in Ethiopia have increased, and its exports of raw materials and capital goods have increased significantly.

In recent years, motor vehicles, various construction machinery, raw materials, hardware and building materials account for a large proportion of the main products I export to Ethiopia. On June 27, 2014, the Volta Information Center reported that the Ethiopian Highway Bureau signed an agreement with China Communications Corporation (CCCC), which will build a 102km long highway in the Oromo River area. According to the report, the project will cost 2.5 billion birr in total and be constructed in two stages. It is expected to be completed within three years.
