Industry background
According to the data released by China Building Energy Conservation Association, the total carbon emissions in the whole process of building in China account for more than half of the total carbon emissions in China, of which building materials (steel, cement, aluminum, etc.) account for 28.3%; In the operation stage (urban residential buildings, public buildings, rural buildings), the proportion is 21.9%, and in the construction stage, the proportion is 1%.
The prefabricated building construction mode has the characteristics of energy conservation and environmental protection, and the effect of energy conservation and emission reduction is significant in the construction and use stages. On the one hand, prefabricated buildings adopt intensive large-scale digital production mode, which reduces material consumption to a certain extent; On the other hand, the mechanized installation mode was adopted in the later stage, which greatly avoided the emergence of construction waste, reduced energy consumption by more than 20%, and had obvious advantages in energy conservation and emission reduction.
The policy strongly supports the promotion of prefabricated construction, and the scale of new prefabricated buildings continues to expand. At present, policies around China are also vigorously supporting the promotion of prefabricated construction. Most provinces, such as Guangdong, Anhui and Shaanxi, have set a target of 30% penetration rate by 2035, while economically developed regions, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang, are more stringent. They have set targets of 30% penetration rate and 50% penetration rate by 2020. With the continuous increase of "carbon peak" and "carbon neutral" policies, the new construction method of supporting green and environmental protection with digital technology will have greater development space.
With the active promotion of prefabricated building projects in various regions, the scale of newly built prefabricated buildings in China is growing. By the end of 2020, newly constructed prefabricated buildings in 31 provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps had totaled 630 million square meters, an increase of 50% over 2019, accounting for about 20.5% of the newly constructed building area.

With the theme of "green low-carbon, energy-saving transformation", the 2021 Shanghai Green Construction Expo will set up three thematic sections: building energy conservation, prefabricated buildings and interior decoration. Nearly 500 domestic and foreign brand enterprises participated in the exhibition, with an exhibition scale of nearly 30000 square meters. The three-day exhibition attracted more than 30000 professional visitors. The content focuses on the four new products and technologies in the hot areas of the industry, such as public institution building energy conservation, integration of thermal insulation and decoration, new energy for building, light steel structure, modular building, integrated kitchen and bathroom, architectural acoustics, villa elevator, etc.
In terms of exhibitors, 472 building materials enterprises at home and abroad participated in the exhibition. Among them, there are 450 domestic exhibitors and 22 overseas exhibitors.
In terms of visitors, the three-day exhibition attracted 31223 professional visitors, including 30993 domestic visitors and 230 overseas visitors.
In terms of forums, there are industry development theme forums, application technology forums, enterprise new product launches and other forms. There were nearly 20 on-site activities, with a total of more than 50 speakers, attracting more than 1200 listeners. With the advantage of gathering professionals in the industry at the exhibition site, the multi-dimensional and in-depth communication and interaction of trends, products and technologies will be formed.
This exhibition invited government departments in charge of housing construction system and dozens of industry associations from all over the country to visit the exhibition and attend the on-site forum activities.
