Xi Jinping pointed out that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia. Over the past 75 years, China Russia relations have gone through ups and downs and become stronger through time. They have withstood the test of the changing international situation, and set a model of mutual respect, frank treatment, harmonious coexistence, mutual benefit and win-win results between major countries and neighboring countries. The stable development of China Russia relations is not only in the fundamental interests of the two countries and their people, but also conducive to peace, stability and prosperity in the region and even the world. China is willing to always be a good neighbor, friend and partner of mutual trust with Russia, constantly consolidate the friendship between the two peoples from generation to generation, jointly realize the development and revitalization of their respective countries, and work together to safeguard world fairness and justice.
Xi Jinping stressed that the most important conclusion drawn from the 75 year history of the development of China Russia relations is that between two neighboring major countries, the five principles of peaceful coexistence must always be promoted, mutual respect, equality and mutual trust, care for each other's concerns, and truly provide mutual assistance for the development and revitalization of both sides. This is not only the way for China and Russia to get along correctly, but also the direction for major country relations in the 21st century. Putin said that I am very happy to visit China again after taking office as the new President of Russia. In March last year, President Xi Jinping also paid a state visit to Russia shortly after his re-election. After the talks, the two heads of state jointly signed and issued the Joint Statement of the People's Republic of China and the Russian Federation on Deepening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership of Cooperation in the New Era on the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, and jointly witnessed the signing of a number of bilateral cooperation documents in the fields of economy and trade, nature protection, inspection and quarantine, media, etc.
The two heads of state also jointly met with journalists.
Prior to the talks, Xi Jinping held a grand welcome ceremony for Putin at the square outside the East Gate of the Great Hall of the People.
When Putin arrived, the soldiers lined up to salute. The two heads of state mounted the reviewing platform, the military band played the national anthems of China and Russia, and the Tiananmen Square fired 21 salutes. Putin, accompanied by Xi Jinping, reviewed the honor guard of the Chinese People's Liberation Army and watched the march show. Children of China and Russia hold bouquets and national flags of China and Russia to cheer the heads of state of the two countries.
At noon that day, Xi Jinping held a welcome banquet for Putin in the Golden Hall of the Great Hall of the People.
