With the theme of "holding up the sun of tomorrow", leaders of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, leaders of the China Youth Development Foundation, representatives of assisted teachers and students from all over the country, as well as caring enterprises such as Baojian, and caring people from all walks of life gathered together to witness the achievements made in the 30 years since the implementation of the Hope Project, and listen to the touching stories together.
As one of the caring enterprises that have long supported the Hope Project, Baojian has devoted itself to public welfare undertakings since its inception. Since 1997, when it donated the first Hope Primary School in Hebei, it has carried out donation activities for more than 20 consecutive years. It has donated more than 100 Baojian Hope Schools and schools for migrant workers' children across the country, with a total donation of more than 60 million yuan, Help 150000 children realize their dreams of schooling.
For many years, Baojian has been keen on helping the education cause. Baojian has taken the Hope Project as its own shareholder, and creatively proposed three 1% models (i.e., 1% of the company's annual revenue, 1% of the employee's voluntary donation revenue, and 1% of the dealer's voluntary donation revenue). It has attracted 100000 Baojian partners to join the 1% love volunteer team, and has spontaneously carried out the action of helping students and teachers for public welfare. With the public welfare concept of "Chinese heart, treasure health", we always pay attention to the educational growth of youth in poor areas and the actual needs of rural teachers.
Caring for teachers means paying attention to education. Focusing on the help and support for teachers is an effective way to fundamentally unlock the lack of educational resources and the bottleneck of educational development in poor areas.
In addition to the continuous support for the Hope Project, Baojian Public Welfare has specially launched the "Caring for Gardeners" project for rural teachers, focusing on four dimensions of teachers' health, personal career development, comprehensive education management, and improvement of campus health environment, and starting from solving practical problems, giving support and help to rural teachers.
With the help and support of the China Youth Development Foundation and 1% of Baojian's caring volunteers, in 2019, the "Caring for Gardeners" project made substantial progress: nearly 2 million yuan was invested annually to buy health insurance for rural teachers, benefiting nearly 3000 rural teachers nationwide.
Among them, many rural teachers suffering from serious diseases received large reimbursement, which greatly eased their economic pressure; At the same time, we also organized overseas study activities for rural teachers to help them broaden their horizons and enrich their experience; The activity of "Baojian Rural School Principal Refresher Training Class" was held to help rural educators improve their comprehensive quality; The Baojian "Qingquan Plan" project, which helped to transform the sanitary facilities of rural schools, continued to advance.
By September 2019, nearly 5 million yuan had been invested in nearly 30 poverty-stricken schools in 9 provinces and regions across the country, providing basic security for the health and safety of 10000 teachers and students.
The honorary title of "Outstanding Contributor" for the 30th anniversary of the Hope Project this time is just a recognition and encouragement for Baojian's continuous public welfare practice, and also a valuable report card to Baojian's 1% caring volunteers. For Baojian, every 1% caring volunteer is an outstanding contributor to the Hope Project and deserves this honor and respect!
