On the evening of June 14, with the successful installation of the 15th caisson of the dock of No. 8 berth at Luoyu Port, the dock of No. 8 berth and the south dike were closed (as shown in the figure), marking the successful connection of the land area and the water area of the dock of the project, and the overall progress of the project has made a breakthrough.

It is understood that the No.8 berth project of Luoyu Port is located on the northwest shoreline of Luoyu Island. A 400000 ton wharf with hydraulic structure will be built, with a shoreline length of 401 meters and a design annual throughput of 9.95 million tons. After the berth is completed and put into use, our city will have two 400000 ton ore berths, which is of great significance to help our city build a strategic port city that connects the river and the sea.

It is reported that the sea conditions in the construction area of Luoyu Port Berth 8 are complex and frequently affected by the monsoon climate, and the caisson installation needs to be carried out under the tide, making underwater construction difficult. In order to ensure high-quality and efficient construction progress, Fujian Luoyu Port Development Co., Ltd. organized all participating units to scientifically coordinate and organize, reasonably allocate resources, strengthen safety production and emergency management, and ensure the orderly implementation of on-site construction.

"The smooth closure of the wharf is conducive to accelerating the formation of the rear land area, which will provide a broad working surface for the construction of the prism behind the wall, the construction of rock socketed piles, and the cast-in-situ breast wall of the southern dike, and lay a solid foundation for promoting the completion of the main body of the wharf and the formation of the land area by the end of the year."
