Leverkusen defeated Salbruken 3-0 in the semi-final of this season's German Cup on Tuesday local time.
This is the fourth time that Leverkusen have reached the German Cup final, and it is also their first time to reach the final since 2009.
Leverkusen had won the German Cup only once before, in 1992/1993, and then they reached the finals in 2001/2002 and 2008/2009.
In the 2002 German Cup final, Leverkusen was beaten 2-4 by Schalke 04. In 2009, they lost 1-0 to Werder Bremen.
Now Leverkusen will attack the third championship in the history of the team. In the 115 year history of the team, they have only won one German Cup and one European Union Cup.
