On May 21, Beijing time, Cross announced on social media that he would retire after the European Cup this summer.

Ronaldo and Cross have been teammates at Real Madrid for four seasons (2014-15 to 2017-18), during which time they helped the team win two Champions League titles, three Club World Cup titles, three European Super Cup titles and one Spanish championship.
