As for the online news, the Shanghai Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau said: "At present, there is no unified food aid subsidy standard in Shanghai. Each district, street and town has formulated their own food aid subsidy policy for the elderly based on the actual situation. The food aid subsidy for the elderly is not directly distributed in cash."

The reporter learned that the online news may misinterpret the meal allowance for the elderly given by the elderly canteen in different communities. At present, the elderly meal allowance in all districts and towns is generally directly deducted or discounted when paying on site. For example, some community canteens may have a subsidy of 2 yuan. When eligible elderly people order meals and pay the bill, they will pay after 2 yuan is deducted on the spot; If there are community canteens, direct discounts will be used. The discounts vary from community to community.

In a word, the specific preferential methods, conditions of the objects to be enjoyed, and subsidy standards of the community canteen are not consistent, and the policies of the town where they are located shall prevail.
