It is positioned as "inheriting history and culture, demonstrating geographical conditions, publicizing development achievements, and depicting city blueprints". It is an important window and platform for Chinese cities to publicize and "go global".

Liu Binjie, Chairman of the Education, Science, Culture and Health Committee of the National People's Congress, said at the meeting that as a major national publishing project during the 13th Five Year Plan period, the series will have a far-reaching impact not only at home but also internationally.

Zhang Fuhai, Director of the China Foreign Language and Culture Administration, said that the publication of the series provided materials for telling Chinese stories and promoting the rich and colorful Chinese culture. The China Foreign Language and Culture Administration will promote the series as a key book to international channels.

At present, the series has been promoted and displayed in the United States, Britain, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Australia and other countries, and has been put on the shelves of Amazon China Bookstore.

As the director of the series editorial board, Kureshi Mehesuti, deputy minister of the Ministry of Land and Resources and director of the National Bureau of Surveying, Mapping and Geographic Information, said that the series editorial department should further innovate the working system and mechanism, and actively and orderly promote the compilation and publication of the series in accordance with the requirements of "publishing a batch, starting a batch, and storing a batch".

At present, it has launched the construction of China National Human Geography Content Resources Database, the sharing service platform of book content resources and the all media publishing platform.
