Introduction to School of Physical Education of Chongqing University:
The School of Physical Education of Chongqing University has a long history. As early as 1936, it established the physical education department. In addition to offering general physical education courses, it also began to cultivate sports professionals; In 1951, the physical education department of our university was merged into the physical education department of Southwest Normal University (now the physical education department of Southwest University) when the major adjustment was made; In 1979, the undergraduate enrollment was resumed, and the physical education teacher class (undergraduate) was recruited; Continuous enrollment began in 2000. On January 10, 2001, Chongqing University and Chongqing Sports Bureau jointly set up the College of Physical Education of Chongqing University, which created a new school running mode. In the same year, it also successfully applied for the master's degree in physical education and training. In 2002, the Master Program of Physical Education and Training began to recruit students. In 2007, successfully applied for the in-service master's degree class of university teachers and began to recruit students; In 2009, he successfully applied for a master's degree in sports and began enrollment in the spring of 2010. At present, there are nearly 200 students (including postgraduates and undergraduates) in our college.
The College of Physical Education of Chongqing University is established to adapt to the development goal of the school as a "first-class, internationally renowned, research-oriented comprehensive university", and to cultivate high-level sports talents for the society. It undertakes the tasks of public physical education teaching, physical education discipline and specialty construction, high-level sports team management and sports competitions, college students' physique testing, etc. The college has a strong faculty and a team of competition judges. There are nearly 80 in-service teaching staff, including 4 professors, more than 30 associate professors, 3 international judges and 6 national judges. In recent years, the college has published dozens of high-level papers in international and domestic journals, edited and published many textbooks, and applied for several provincial and ministerial level topics, showing strong scientific research strength. High standard sports facilities provide a good environment for professional teaching. The credit system, the establishment of minor and secondary majors, and the wide range of optional courses (more than 100 courses) provide guarantees for the development of students' comprehensive quality, broadening the scope of majors, and enhancing social adaptability.
