The Ninth China Ethics Conference and the First China Health Ethics Conference were held in Wenzhou

From December 9 to 10, the ninth (2023) China Ethics Conference and the first China Health Ethics Conference jointly sponsored by the China Ethics Society, Wenzhou Municipal People's Government, Zhejiang Ethics Society and Wenzhou Medical University were held in Wenzhou.

Liu Xiaofeng, Vice Chairman of the 12th CPPCC National Committee, delivered a speech via video. Sun Chunchen, member of the National Science and Technology Ethics Committee and President of the Chinese Society of Ethics, Yang Qing, Vice President of the Chinese Hospital Association, Chen Yingxu, Vice Mayor of Wenzhou, and Lv Yijun, Secretary of the Party Committee of Wenzhou Medical University delivered speeches successively. Liu Guisheng, director of the Planning and Evaluation Division of the Department of Science, Technology and Education of the National Health Commission, Wei Jingru, deputy secretary-general of the China Marxist Research Foundation, Yuan Huajie, chief editor of China Social Science Network, Xiao Hong, vice president and deputy chief editor of China Knowledge Network, Li Xiaokun, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, president of Wenzhou Medical University, and from universities and research institutions across the country More than 800 experts and scholars from the medical system attended the conference. The opening ceremony of the conference was broadcast live on Xinhuanet, China Social Science Network and China Knowledge Network.

The theme of this conference is "Ethics and Healthy China". Zhong Nanshan, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, delivered a keynote speech via video. Li Xiaokun, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Liu Guisheng, director of the Planning and Evaluation Division of the Department of Science, Technology and Education of the National Health Commission, Zhai Xiaomei, a member of the National Science and Technology Ethics Commission and a professor of Peking Union Medical College, and Cao Gang, a professor of Renmin University of China, delivered brilliant thematic academic reports.

As an important part of this conference, the "First China Health Ethics Conference" was held at the same time. The participants conducted in-depth discussion and research on the basic theory, basic principles, practical application, policies and regulations of health ethics, and contributed ideas and wisdom to the development of health ethics in China and the action of healthy China.

There are 10 parallel sub forums in this conference, including applied ethics, basic theories of ethics, publishing ethics, moral cultivation, sports and health, animal ethics and human health. The participants had in-depth exchanges on ethical issues in various fields and shared their research results and insights. The Conference also held the ninth dialogue on ethical hot issues. Five well-known scholars, Wang Shuqin, Fu Changzhen, Li Yitian, Zhang Xiao and Qu Hongmei, had in-depth theoretical discussions and intense ideological collisions with more than 300 young scholars on the scene, which stimulated young scholars' academic enthusiasm and broadened their research horizons.

In order to enhance people's awareness of health ethics, at the opening ceremony of the conference, the Chinese Ethics Society, the Applied Ethics Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Ethics and Moral Construction Research Center of Renmin University of China, and Wenzhou Medical University jointly launched the initiative of "Adhering to Ethics and Promoting Health" to build the cultural foundation of modern Chinese health ethics We call on everyone to act immediately, adhere to health ethics, build a healthy China, and strive for the health and well-being of all mankind.

Entrusted by the Education Foundation of Hunan Normal University, the conference released the review results of the second Tang Kailin Ethics Award. The works of Song Xiren, Fan Heping, Chen Lai and Li Jianhua, four well-known scholars, won the honor.

The conference was listed as the National Social Science Fund's "Association Theme Academic Activities" funded project, and was awarded by the China Marxism Research Foundation, the Applied Ethics Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Ethics and Moral Construction Research Center of Renmin University of China, the Electronic Journal of China Academic Journal (CD), Guangxi University, Nanjing Forestry University, Zhejiang Technology and Business University Shanxi Normal University, Shanghai Sport University and other units to support.
