On September 17, Yu Zirong, Vice President of the Research Institute of the Ministry of Commerce, attended the "Third RCEP Economic and Trade Cooperation Business Summit Forum" of the 20th China ASEAN Expo, released the Report on the Effectiveness and Development Prospects of Regional Cooperation in RCEP 2023 (hereinafter referred to as the "Report"), and presided over the forum theme discussion.

Yu Zirong introduced that the evaluation of the Report showed that since the implementation of RCEP, the industrial chain supply chain cooperation among members has shown strong resilience, promoting regional economic and trade cooperation and the initial release of economic growth dividends, which not only benefited ASEAN and other RCEP members significantly, but also produced positive spillover and demonstration effects, It has become a favorable factor driving the growth of global trade and investment under multiple crises. Faced with the complex and severe international situation, China's trade in goods with RCEP partners has made steady progress, and investment cooperation has shown outstanding performance. It has played a positive role in promoting the stability of foreign investment and foreign trade, and the stability of the chain.

The Report evaluates and analyzes the effectiveness of RCEP implementation based on enterprise questionnaires. The results show that the respondent enterprises have a good overall perception of RCEP. Most enterprises give positive comments on expanding export markets, increasing trade opportunities, enjoying facilitation measures, improving business environment, and using rules to enjoy benefits. In addition, the Report looks forward to the prospects of regional economic cooperation in RCEP and puts forward cooperation suggestions for further high-quality implementation of RCEP.

The Report released this time is based on the research results of the Asia Cooperation Fund Project "Evaluation of the Effectiveness of the Effective Implementation of RCEP". Yu Zirong said that the Report can provide policy guidance for government departments of all countries to further promote the high-quality implementation of RCEP in the region, help further enhance the consensus of all parties, stimulate the vitality of RCEP regional economic and trade cooperation, and promote all sectors of society to deepen the understanding and understanding of RCEP rules and the construction of China's free trade zone, It can also help enterprises and local governments better seize the development opportunities of RCEP and expand the potential of regional trade and investment cooperation.
