Adhering to sustainable development, China's higher education should closely focus on the important task of talent training, use Xi Jinping's thought of socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era to cast the soul and educate people, guide students to consciously integrate patriotism, ambition and service to the country into the struggle to build a modern socialist power, and grow into new people of the era who can shoulder the great task of national rejuvenation. We should take the initiative to serve the country's major strategic needs, actively undertake major projects with strategic overall perspective and key core technology breakthroughs, give play to the advantages of disciplines and talents, strengthen organized scientific research, and help science and technology to become self reliant. We should continue to deepen the opening up of higher education, adhere to an all-round, wide-ranging, multi-level and more proactive high-level opening up, strengthen exchanges and cooperation with world-class universities and scientific research institutions, deeply participate in global education governance, deepen cooperation with UNESCO and other multilateral institutions, and contribute Chinese wisdom to the sustainable development of global higher education.

Shao Xinyu pointed out in his speech that the 2022 International Forum on Higher Education held in Wuhan is a great support for the heroic city of Wuhan. Hubei Province is truly a big province of higher education. The most valuable resource is higher education resources. The most obvious advantage is the advantage of higher education, and the greatest potential is the potential of higher education. Hubei Province is striding towards a strong province in higher education, and will strive to improve the benchmarking and leading ability, original innovation ability, service development ability, talent cultivation ability and foreign exchange ability of higher education. Hubei Province will unswervingly run an education satisfactory to the people, speed up the construction of a high-quality education system, and hope that experts and colleagues in the field of education can speak freely, offer advice and suggestions for the sustainable development of higher education, empower Hubei higher education, and jointly reflect the mission of higher education in building a community with a shared future for mankind.

In his speech, You Zheng pointed out that it is the common responsibility and mission of universities to promote the sustainable development of global higher education in the face of the common challenges of mankind. Higher education plays a fundamental and leading role in building a community with a shared future for mankind. Universities should shoulder the mission of the new era, base on education, teaching and talent training, promote scientific research, innovation and social services, and constantly expand cultural exchanges and mutual learning of civilizations. Huazhong University of Science and Technology has been committed to the road of sustainable development with richer connotation and more far-reaching significance. Especially in recent years, the university has accelerated the pace of building a world-class university, adhered to the "open" school running concept, and carried out practical and friendly cooperation with more than 300 high-level universities and research institutions at home and abroad. The international competence of students, the international competitiveness of scholars, the international influence of academia, and the international attraction of the university have significantly increased, The university has made due contributions to promoting the sustainable development of higher education and promoting the exchange and mutual learning of human civilizations.

Du Yubo pointed out in his keynote report entitled "Promoting the Sustainable Development of Higher Education and Jointly Building a Community with a Shared Future for Humanity" that sustainable development is the endogenous driving force for the long-term development of higher education, and the sustainable development of higher education is an important driving force for the progress of human society. Inclusive, fair, high-quality and lifelong learning are the core concepts of sustainable development of higher education. The sustainable development of higher education includes higher education as sustainable development, higher education on sustainable development and higher education for sustainable development. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the Chinese government has adhered to the strategy of giving priority to education development and actively taken various measures to promote the sustainable development of higher education, making great changes and achievements. To face the future and promote the sustainable development of global higher education, it is necessary to build a Chinese model of higher education, accelerate the high-quality development of higher education, deeply promote the digital strategic action of higher education, and create a new pattern of foreign exchange and cooperation, so as to make new and greater contributions to the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind.

The experts and scholars at home and abroad who attended the forum expressed their opinions around the theme of the annual meeting of the forum, and made reports and shares in combination with their own relevant research.

Ted Mitchell, H.E. Raja Dato 'Nushirwan Zainal Abidin and others pointed out that the major challenges facing the world require exchanges and cooperation in higher education. It is necessary to promote the flow of international students, allow students to study around the world, and promote knowledge, academic and cultural exchanges between countries. It is necessary to promote cooperation among teachers, establish cooperation platforms, and carry out scientific research in such fields as climate change, environmental crisis, biodiversity loss, and ocean rescue. We should establish a community of interests and a sense of a community with a shared future for mankind, reach consensus on the basis of understanding, tolerance and respect, jointly solve global problems and promote the sustainable development of higher education.

Shahbaz Khan, Andreas Schleicher and other international organizations pointed out that future education should be committed to providing students with more flexible learning content, learning methods, learning places and learning time to meet their personalized needs in the context of more and more students in higher education. We should provide more opportunities for women to learn and work in colleges and universities. Appropriate student loans should be provided to students in an appropriate way to prevent a student from dropping out of school due to lack of fees. We should cultivate students' "green skills" so that they have the knowledge, ability, values and attitudes needed to support the sustainable development of society and build a resource-saving society.

Gene D. Block, Luke Georgiou, Deborah Terry AO and other university presidents pointed out that the public is increasingly aware of the important role of universities in scientific research, promoting sustainable social development and increasing human welfare. Virtual technology has increased the depth of cooperation between teachers and students in different countries. Colleges and universities should impart knowledge related to sustainable social development to students, so as to promote the development of green economy, protect or repair ecosystems, and mitigate the extreme impact of climate change. Let all teachers and students have the ability to search and analyze information and data, so as to transfer scientific knowledge to public policy makers and the public. We should adhere to the scientific nature of scientific research and teaching. Cooperation with other universities, enterprises and social organizations should be strengthened.
