General introduction of the city
- Founded in March 1927, the Nanjing Federation of Trade Unions is the first local trade union in Nanjing established under the leadership of the Communist Party of China. The Nanjing Federation of Trade Unions is a local organization of the All China Federation of Trade Unions, elected by the Nanjing Trade Union Congress, and is the leading organ of trade union organizations at all levels in Nanjing. On March 25, 1927, more than 200 grassroots trade unions in the city sent representatives to participate in the Municipal Workers' Congress, formally established the Nanjing Federation of Trade Unions, and elected 25 people, including Cultural Shock, Zhong Tianyue, Liang Yong, to form an executive committee. The site of the meeting is located in Mingyuan Tower of Confucius Temple Tribute (today's Jiangnan Tribute). Under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, the Nanjing Trade Union has made irreplaceable contributions to safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of the majority of workers, achieving national independence and people's liberation, and promoting the reform and development of Nanjing.
