On June 1, 2024, the Consulate General in Chicago held the "Chinese Speech Contest for Primary and Middle School Students of the" Chinese Bridge "in the Midwest of the United States. Zhao Jian, Consul General in Chicago, attended and delivered a speech. Participants from primary and secondary schools in the Midwest of the United States, including Chicago and Minneapolis, as well as their teachers, classmates and parents, attended.

In his speech, Consul General Zhao Jian sent his "June 1" Children's Day greetings to the students, congratulated the contestants on their outstanding achievements in the finals, and hoped to build a bridge of friendship between Chinese and American teenagers through Chinese learning and exchange activities. Consul General Zhao introduced President Xi Jinping's important initiative of "inviting 50000 American teenagers to China for exchange and study in the next five years", and welcomed students to visit and exchange in China in the future.

After a fierce competition, eight students from Yinghua College and other schools won gold prizes in each category. After the competition, the students performed Chinese songs and dances, folk music and other talents to celebrate the success of the event and celebrate the International Children's Day.
