On June 9, 2024, Consul General Zhao Liying was invited to attend the unveiling ceremony of the memorial plaque of Calgary Shanle Park. Members of Canadian federal provinces and cities, leaders of Chinese associations, etc. participated in the activity.

In his speech, Consul General Zhao paid tribute to the early pioneers of the Chinese in Calgary, and thanked Calgary Philharmonic Society and Taishan Guild Hall for their cooperation in facilitating this event. She said that the inscribed plaque in Shanle Park is a testimony to the indomitable spirit of generations of Chinese immigrants.
