The Five Mountains are the product of the combination of worship of ancient mountain gods, the concept of the Five Elements and the emperors' hunting and Zen, which were later inherited by Taoism and regarded as famous Taoist mountains. They are:

　　 Eastern Mountain Mount Tai (1532m), bit Yu Shan East Tai'an City.

　　 Huashan mountain Huashan Mountain (1997 meters), located in Huayin City, Shaanxi Province.

　　 Nanyue Hengshan Mountain (1512m), located at Hunan South of Changsha Hengshan Mountain County.

　　 Hengshan Mountain (2017 meters), the northern mountain, is located in Hunyuan County, Shanxi Province.

　　 Zhongyue Songshan Mountain (1440 meters), located in Dengfeng City, Henan Province.
