Introduction to dynamic environment monitoring system

Dynamic environment monitoring system is a system used to monitor and manage the equipment and environment of server room.

It monitors and collects key parameters such as temperature, humidity, power load, smoke and water immersion in the machine room in real time by installing various sensors and monitoring equipment. The data collected by the transmitter is transmitted to the centralized management platform through the data acquisition equipment, and the operation and maintenance personnel can view the status of various equipment and environmental parameters in the machine room through the centralized management platform, and conduct fault diagnosis and alarm processing. The dynamic environment monitoring system can also provide remote monitoring and management functions to facilitate the operation and maintenance personnel to monitor and manage the equipment in the machine room at any time and anywhere. Through the dynamic environment monitoring system, the security, stability and operation and maintenance efficiency of the machine room can be improved.

The dynamic environment monitoring system consists of the following parts:

1. Sensors and monitoring equipment:

The sensor is the core component of the dynamic ring monitoring system. By installing various sensors, the key parameters such as temperature, humidity, smoke, water immersion and power load in the machine room can be monitored in real time. The sensor converts these parameters into electrical signals and transmits them to monitoring equipment or centralized management platform for processing and analysis.

2. Data acquisition equipment:

Power system: monitor the voltage, current, power consumption time, battery temperature, working status and other parameters and conditions of power equipment such as mains power distribution, UPS, storage battery, generator, distribution cabinet, power supply, etc.

Environment system: collect data status of temperature and humidity, water leakage, fresh air, ordinary air conditioners, precision air conditioners and other environment and equipment through temperature and humidity sensors, water leakage sensors, air conditioning controllers and other sensor equipment.

Security system: smoke detection, access control, infrared, video, fire protection, etc. are monitored in real time through sensor modules such as smoke detector, video monitoring, infrared monitoring, access control, etc. Non relevant personnel are prohibited from entering and prevent fire risks.

The data acquisition equipment is used to collect the data transmitted by the sensor, process and analyze it. The data collection device can connect with the sensor through wired or wireless mode, and transmit the collected data to the centralized management platform. Data set backup usually has high-performance CPU and large capacity memory to meet the requirements of real-time monitoring and large amount of data processing.

3. Centralized management platform:

The centralized management platform is the core control center of the dynamic environment monitoring system. It receives and analyzes the data transmitted from sensors and data acquisition equipment, and provides real-time monitoring, fault diagnosis and alarm functions. The centralized management platform usually has a friendly user interface, which can intuitively display the status of various equipment and environmental parameters in the computer room, and provide functions such as historical data query and report statistics.

4. Alarm and early warning system:

The alarm and early warning system is an important part of the dynamic environment monitoring system. When abnormal equipment or environmental parameters are detected in the machine room, the alarm and early warning system will send out sound, light or other forms of alarm signals to remind the operation and maintenance personnel to take timely measures. The alarm and early warning system is usually connected with the centralized management platform, which can realize the functions of automatic alarm and remote monitoring.

5. Remote monitoring and management system:

The remote monitoring and management system is an extended function of the dynamic environment monitoring system. Through the remote monitoring and management system, the operation and maintenance personnel can monitor and manage the equipment and environmental parameters of the computer room through the Internet at any time and anywhere. The remote monitoring and management system can provide real-time data update, remote operation, fault diagnosis and other functions to facilitate remote management and maintenance by operation and maintenance personnel. Improve the security, stability and operation and maintenance efficiency of the computer room.

Differentiation and respective advantages of fat AP and thin AP

What is AP? How to distinguish fat and thin AP?

First, let's talk about the concept of AP. AP is Access The abbreviation of Point, namely wireless access point, is used to compile the wired signals (i.e. electrical signals) transmitted through twisted pair cables in the LAN, convert them into radio signals, and transmit them to wireless terminals such as computers and mobile phones. At the same time, the wireless signals sent by these wireless terminals are converted into wired signals, which are transmitted through twisted pair cables in the LAN. In this way, wireless coverage is formed, that is, wireless LAN. We usually refer to the thin AP below.

Wireless AP can generally be divided into fat AP and thin AP, which are not distinguished from the outside, but from their working principles and functions. Of course, some fat and thin APs can be distinguished in appearance. For example, those with WAN ports must be fat APs.

In addition to the wireless access function mentioned above, fat APs generally have both WAN and LAN ports, and support security functions such as DHCP server, DNS and MAC address cloning, VPN access, and firewall. A fat AP usually has its own complete operating system. It is a network device that can work independently. It can realize dialing, routing and other functions. A typical example is our common wireless router.

The image of thin AP is to thin fat AP, remove routing, DNS, DHCP server and many other loaded functions, and only retain the wireless access part. The AP we often refer to refers to this kind of thin AP, which is equivalent to a wireless switch or hub, and only provides a wired/wireless signal conversion and wireless signal reception/transmission function. As a component of WLAN, thin AP cannot work independently, and it must cooperate with AC management to become a complete system.

Advantages and disadvantages of fat and thin AP networking

What are the advantages and disadvantages of the networking solutions of fat AP and thin AP? We will elaborate and compare in the following aspects.

    1. Networking scale and application scenarios

Fat AP is generally used for small wireless network construction, and can work independently without the cooperation of AC. It is generally used in the scenarios of families, small businesses or small offices that only need a small number of people to cover them completely.

Thin APs are generally used in the construction of medium and large wireless networks. A certain number of APs are used together with AC products to form a large wireless network coverage. The use scenarios are generally shopping malls, supermarkets, scenic spots, hotels, catering and entertainment, corporate offices, etc.

    2. Wireless roaming

The fat AP networking cannot achieve wireless roaming. When a user moves from the coverage area of one fat AP to the coverage area of another fat AP, he/she will reconnect to a fat AP with strong signals, perform authentication again, and obtain the IP address again. The network is disconnected.

When the user moves from the coverage area of one thin AP to the coverage area of another, the signal will automatically switch, and there is no need to re authenticate, no need to re acquire the IP address, and the network is always connected online, which is convenient to use.

    3. Automatic load balancing

When many users are connected to the same fat AP, the fat AP cannot automatically perform load balancing to distribute users to other fat APs with lighter load, so the fat AP will frequently have network failures due to heavy load.

In the AC+thin AP networking, when many users are connected to the same thin AP, AC will automatically allocate users to other APs with lighter load according to the load balancing algorithm, reducing the failure rate of the AP and improving the availability of the whole network.

    4. Management and maintenance

Fat APs cannot be managed centrally and need to be configured individually one by one, which is tedious.

Thin APs can be centrally managed together with AC products, without separate configuration. Especially in the case of a large number of APs, centralized management has obvious advantages.

    5. Networking cost

Generally speaking, the price of a fat AP is higher than that of a thin AP, but the fat AP networking does not require AC products, so the cost is lower in the case of small-scale networking.

The networking mode of thin AP+AC has AC products, so the cost is relatively high in the case of small-scale networking.

Although the AC+thin AP networking mode has many of the above benefits, in the case of small-scale networking, many users, such as restaurants, cafes, 4S stores, inns, beauty salons, gyms, etc., will choose to use several fat APs to network to provide WiFi for customers based on cost reasons.

The result is that although WiFi is available, the user experience is poor, and they cannot add points to their own services. In many cases, even reduce points, making customers unwilling to visit again.
