Provisions of the National Health Insurance on the Refund of Medical Expenses in Mainland China

(1) The insured party of the National Health Insurance may apply for reimbursement of the medical expenses paid by the insured party within 6 months from the day of emergency treatment or outpatient treatment or discharge from the hospital due to unexpected emergency injuries and diseases to the sub district business group of the Central Health Insurance Bureau where the insured party is located, and will not be accepted after the expiration of the time limit. The Central Health Insurance Bureau shall verify the payment according to the scope of national health insurance benefits; However, there is a ceiling of the fees paid to the Taiwan Medical Center, which is announced quarterly.

(2) To apply for reimbursement of self paid medical expenses in mainland China, the following documents should be attached: 1. original receipt of medical expenses and details of expenses 2. diagnostic certificate and abstract of medical records for inpatient cases 3. current entry-exit certificate (such as photocopy of entry-exit inspection seal on the first page and inside page of passport photo) 4. For those who have not entered the country, please fill in a power of attorney to entrust domestic relatives and friends to handle 5. Application for reimbursement of medical expenses. (3) Since April 1, 2010, the Central Health Insurance Bureau, in accordance with the Detailed Rules for the Implementation of the Regulations on People's Relations between Taiwan and the Mainland, has stipulated that the application for reimbursement of self paid medical expenses for more than 5 days (inclusive) of hospitalization in the mainland area should be made. The above-mentioned medical institution certification documents (original receipts and diagnosis certificates) must first be notarized in the mainland notary office, The application can only be applied to the Health Insurance Bureau after the verification of the [Consultation Tel.
