Lianyungang's direct sea transportation to Taiwan will reach a new high in 2023

On February 6, on the website of the Taiwan Affairs Office of Jiangsu Province, recently, data from Lianyungang Port Holding Group showed that in 2023, the throughput of direct shipping containers from Lianyungang to Taiwan will be 144000 TEUs, an increase of 29000 TEUs compared with 2022, a year-on-year increase of 24.6%, a new high.

In recent years, Lianyungang's direct sea freight throughput to Taiwan has continued to rise, with more than 100000 TEUs of containers completed every year, which has increasingly become an important part of Lianyungang's foreign trade.

Against the background of the general slowdown of global economic activities, the weakening of the international shipping market, and the enormous challenges faced by the cross-strait economic and trade exchanges, Lianyungang's direct sea transportation to Taiwan rose against the trend, fully demonstrating that the economic and trade exchanges and cooperation between Lianyungang and Taiwan have strong endogenous power, strong internal demand, and broad development space.
