From November 14 to 15, the 10th anniversary annual meeting of the 2023 Cross Strait Entrepreneurs Summit was held in Nanjing. The Yangtze River International Conference Center, located in Jiangbei New District, Nanjing, has held many seminars in the past two days. Guests present at the meeting have seen the current situation of the economic integration and development of Jiangsu and Taiwan in recent years, and are full of confidence in the future integration and development.

In recent years, the economic integration and development of Jiangsu and Taiwan have achieved positive results. For 19 consecutive years, Jiangsu Province has ranked first in the mainland in attracting Taiwan investment. As of September 2023, the province has approved more than 31000 Taiwan funded projects in total, the actual amount of Taiwan funded projects has exceeded 90 billion dollars, and the total investment of nearly 6700 projects has exceeded 10 million dollars.

From January to September 2023, the trade volume between Jiangsu and Taiwan will reach 35.1 billion US dollars, accounting for about 1/5 of the trade volume between the two sides of the Taiwan Straits. More than half of Taiwan's top 100 groups and top 100 manufacturing enterprises have invested in Jiangsu.

In recent years, a group of leading Taiwanese enterprises have increased their capital and shares in Jiangsu Province. A total of 15 Taiwan funded projects have been included in the list of major projects in Jiangsu Province, and the Taiwan funded economy has shown a good momentum of steady progress.

Jiangsu has constantly strengthened its dominant position in the innovation and development of enterprises in Jiangsu and Taiwan, and helped Taiwan enterprises enhance their endogenous development momentum. As of September 2023, 145 Taiwanese enterprises have been selected as national "little giant" enterprises and provincial "small giant" enterprises, and more than 250 Taiwanese enterprises have been rated as provincial industrial design centers, enterprise technology centers, green factories, and intelligent workshops. During the validity period of high-tech certification, nearly 750 Taiwanese enterprises, and more than 70 Taiwanese enterprises have been recognized as regional headquarters and functional organizations of multinational companies, accounting for about 1/5 of the province.

Innovate and establish the Suzhou Taiwan Enterprise Cooperation Alliance, and promote Taiwan enterprises, state-owned enterprises, and private enterprises to work together to strengthen the supply chain, optimize the industrial chain, and deepen the value chain.

As the birthplace of the cross-strait entrepreneurs' summit, Jiangsu gives full play to the advantages of the summit platform to add impetus to the economic exchanges and cooperation between Jiangsu and Taiwan. Since 2013, the Cross Strait Entrepreneurs Summit has held five annual meetings and dozens of economic exchanges in Jiangsu, effectively promoting cross Strait business exchanges.

With the help of the summit platform, Jiangsu has signed more than 200 economic cooperation agreements and projects with Taiwan, covering electronic information, intelligent equipment manufacturing, cultural creativity, medical equipment, biopharmaceuticals and many other fields, highlighting Jiangsu's advantages in cross-strait industrial cooperation. Jiangsu has constantly strengthened its contacts with the various industry groups of the Summit, committed to building new carriers and platforms for various exchanges and cooperation, and innovatively held the Innovation and Development Seminar of the Cross Strait Entrepreneurs Summit, the Qinhu Forum of Cross Strait Entrepreneurs in the Yangtze River Delta, the Cross Strait Modern Agricultural Cooperation (Huai'an) Summit Forum and other activities, promoting the deep integration of the economy of Jiangsu and Taiwan.

  [Taiwan's youth entrepreneurship projects have exceeded 1650 in Jiangsu]

Jiangsu focuses on what the youth on both sides of the Taiwan Straits need for development, strives to create good conditions for the youth on both sides of the Taiwan Straits to learn from each other, and provides more convenience for the youth on both sides of the Taiwan Straits to study, find jobs, start businesses, and live in Jiangsu.

Jiangsu has held the Cross Strait Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition in Changzhou for three consecutive years. In 2023, the competition will focus on electronic information, intelligent manufacturing, health medicine, new energy, new materials, modern agriculture, modern service industry and other industries. There will be 153 projects on both sides of the Taiwan Straits, and 4 projects will win the first prize. The management committee of Changzhou West Taihu Science and Technology Industrial Park signed a centralized contract with 12 projects, including Chaolehui Cross Strait Musician Exchange Platform Project, and synchronous dynamic random access memory (SDRAM) smart finance project based on AI computing function.

Since 2017, Jiangsu has continuously held the Jiangsu Internship and Employment Special Training Camp for Taiwanese College Students. Over the past six years, it has provided more than 7500 internships for Taiwanese youth, attracting nearly 3100 people.

In order to better help Taiwanese youth start businesses, Jiangsu has built a number of innovation and entrepreneurship carriers, including 12 youth employment and entrepreneurship bases (demonstration sites) across the Taiwan Strait approved by the Taiwan Affairs Office of the People's Republic of China, and 12 youth employment and entrepreneurship bases in Taiwan approved by the Taiwan Affairs Office of Jiangsu Province. Since 2016, there have been more than 1650 Taiwan youth entrepreneurship projects thriving on the land of Jiangsu, and more than 17500 Taiwan youth have participated in various innovation and entrepreneurship activities and internships. A number of outstanding Taiwan youth entrepreneurship projects have been incubated and developed.

Jiangsu innovatively explores the implementation of equal treatment for Taiwan compatriots and continues to optimize the business environment. In 2022, Jiangsu will take the lead in introducing the Regulations of Jiangsu Province on Promoting Economic and Cultural Exchanges and Cooperation with Taiwan, which will provide legal protection for the province's economic exchanges and cooperation with Taiwan. In July 2023, under the guidance of the Taiwan Affairs Office of Jiangsu Province, the launching ceremony for the release of Anxinbao, which was specially customized for Taiwan compatriots in Jiangsu Province, was held in Suzhou, marking the official landing of the first innovative insurance, Anxinbao, which was specially designed for Taiwan compatriots in special difficulties and Taiwan youth.
