Founded in 1938, Huachang Jewelry is one of the "old brand" enterprises in the jewelry industry. Its founder Zhang Ayue is the grandfather of the current chairman, King Zhang. In the 1930s, Zhang Ayue and his cousin Zhang Ruxin learned jewelry processing from their father Zhang Ahan. After successful learning, they moved from Hong Kong to Shanghai to operate the "Tianfa Zhuhao" silver tower. With the special skills of "gold inlaying jade" and "jade inlaying gold", they became famous in Shanghai beach and became a history. In his later years, Zhang Ayue meticulously drew four volumes of Huachang Family Jade Inlaid with Gold Antique Manual, Huachang Gold Wrapped with Jade Manual, Huachang Gemstone Male Ring Sample Manual, and Huachang Jade Inlaid with Gold Manual, which were handed down to his descendants, so that the traditional techniques of "gold inlaid with jade" and "jade inlaid with gold" could be passed down forever.
In 2009, after years of technology creation by Huachang people, standardized management and production were realized, and the two skills of "gold inlaying jade" and "jade inlaying gold" were carried forward. In 2011, Huachang's "gold inlaid jade, jade inlaid gold" technique was included in Fujian Provincial Intangible Cultural Heritage List.
