Teen sailors compete in Dapeng Bay

In a dazzling display of skill and sportsmanship, the 2024 Dapeng Bay Cup Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Macao Regatta unfolded in the picturesque setting of Nan’ao, Dapeng New Area on Saturday. The event witnessed the participation of almost 100 teenage sailors hailing from Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and Macao, who vied for victory in the scenic Yueliang Bay area.

Marking the second edition of the Dapeng Bay Cup Regatta, the competition was co-organized by the tourism,

culture and sports bureau of Dapeng New Area, along with various other regional associations and sports bodies. This collaborative effort aimed to deepen cultural and sporting exchanges among young talents from Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and Macao while fostering increased connectivity, resource sharing, and cooperation among the three regions.

The regatta also sought to establish an influential cooperative model and event brand within the realm of sailing sports. By creating a significant avenue for integrated development, the event played a pivotal role in propelling Nan’ao towards its vision of becoming a premier destination for sailing sports enthusiasts, embodying a fusion of culture and competition.  This event was captured by Shenzhen Daily photographer Liu Xudong.
