According to public reports, in 2011, after the academician Peng Yongzhen team discovered the special phenomenon of shortcut denitrification, it carried out mechanism research for more than 10 years, and finally achieved the first technological breakthrough in the world and established relevant theories.

Beikong Water and Academician Peng Yongzhen of the Chinese Academy of Engineering jointly built the Academician Workstation. In order to overcome the difficulty in the application of sludge double reflux AOA technology from laboratory to practical engineering, Beikong Water established the first 100 ton pilot project at home and abroad in Haikou in 2019 based on a large number of research and verification. At the same time, based on the first generation product prototype and the formed systematic startup control strategy technology, in 2020, Beikong Water will quickly start the 10000 ton production verification, further breaking the bottleneck problem of the application of the sludge double reflux - AOA process first generation product 10000 ton conversion, and creating a record of far more than expected low temperature nitrogen removal in winter.

The new technology of Beikong Water AOA now has the technical conditions for large-scale project promotion.
