Tencent's business has expanded to social networking, finance, information, tools and platforms, and its subsidiaries are specialized in various global Internet related services and products, entertainment, artificial intelligence and technology. Tencent's history
In November 1998, five founders, Ma Huateng, Zhang Zhidong, Chen Yidan, Xu Chenye and Zeng Liqing, co founded Tencent. In February of the next year, the instant messaging software "OICQ" was born.
Tencent was listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on June 16, 2004. On September 5, 2016, it became the first listed company in Asia with the highest market capitalization, and on November 21, 2017, it became the first company in Asia with a market capitalization of more than 500 billion dollars.
In March 2010, QQ simultaneously exceeded 100 million online users, and QQ has an unshakable position in the instant messaging market in mainland China. At this time, the market conflict between Tencent and Qihoo triggered a "3Q war".

On March 8, 2018, Tencent made a strategic investment of $630 million in live broadcast of fighting fish and a strategic investment of $461.6 million in live broadcast of Tiger Teeth.
On December 2, 2018, Tencent Music was listed and traded on the U.S. Stock Exchange with the stock code of "TME". The closing price on the first day was US $14.00, up 7.69% from the issue price. The market value was about US $22.894 billion based on the closing price.
In August 2020, Douyu and Tiger Teeth announced that they had received Tencent's merger proposal, and Tencent suggested that Tiger Teeth and Douyu should exchange shares at the overall market value of 1:1. After the merger, Douyu would become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tiger Teeth. Before the merger, Tencent already owned 38% of the equity of Douyu and 50.1% of the equity of Huya.

Tencent equity incentive plan
On the evening of July 10, 2020, Tencent released the latest announcement of the equity incentive plan at the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
