In recent years, Yinchuan City, located in the northwest of Ningxia, along the road of ecological city building, human water harmony, water conservation, water control and water use, has drawn a new landscape of "the more beautiful the city is in the lake, the more beautiful the lake is in the city". In 2018, Yinchuan was awarded the first batch of "International Wetland Cities" in the world.
At present, Yinchuan has a total wetland area of 53100 hectares, including nearly 200 natural lakes, 5 national wetland parks, with a wetland rate of 10.65% and a wetland protection rate of 85%.
