As a scientific and technological innovation enterprise established just over 10 years ago, Jimi has broken the monopoly of foreign brands on the Chinese projector market, and its products have been exported to more than 100 countries and regions. How will the company continue to build competitive advantages in the future? The reporter recently interviewed Zhong Bo, chairman of the board of directors of Jimi Technology Co., Ltd.
Reporter: The Central Economic Work Conference listed "leading the construction of a modern industrial system with scientific and technological innovation" as the top of nine key tasks. How do you view the signal released?
Zhong Bo: The deployment of the Central Economic Work Conference shows that the Party and the state attach great importance to scientific and technological innovation, which also means that more resources will be invested in emerging industries in the future, and more new momentum in scientific and technological fields will emerge. In this context, the leading and supporting role of sci-tech innovation enterprises in the construction of modern industrial system will be more prominent.
The Central Economic Work Conference also pointed out the direction for the development of emerging consumer electronics enterprises. There is no shortcut to the development of the enterprise. The only way is to adhere to the long-term principle, consolidate internal skills, and focus on technology and product innovation. In my opinion, consumer electronics enterprises should focus more on bottom technology breakthroughs and product innovation, create real value for users, and achieve differentiated development in services and brands.
Reporter: Since 2023, a series of measures to support and encourage high-quality development of private economy have been introduced intensively. How do you view the opportunities of the times for the development and growth of private enterprises?
Zhong Bo: At present, private enterprises account for more than 90% of China's business entities, and private economy has become a new force to promote Chinese style modernization. The Party Central Committee and the State Council attach great importance to the high-quality development of the private economy, and a series of good policies to promote the development and growth of the private economy have been successively implemented, encouraging private enterprises to develop boldly.
The firm position and policy signals of the Party and the country have encouraged our private entrepreneurs, and strengthened our determination to adhere to the long-term principle, adhere to the bottom level technological innovation, product research and development, and actively participate in international competition. In the future, Jimi will continue to increase the investment in research, development and innovation of projection bottom technology, adhering to the original intention of creating value for users.
Reporter: As a "specialized, special and new" enterprise, what aspects will Jimi Technology stimulate new quality productivity?
Zhong Bo: The advantages of GIMI are R&D ability and product innovation ability. Our goal is to build a sustainable innovation driven enterprise. We will continue to increase investment in R&D and innovation of underlying technologies.
Since the launch of the Science and Technology Innovation Board, the company has invested more than 900 million yuan in research and development. Four major innovation platforms have been built, including the National Enterprise Technology Center, the National Industrial Design Center, the Sichuan Engineering Technology Research Center, and the Sichuan Engineering Center. In the future, we will still base ourselves on the projection industry, give full play to the advantages of technology and resources in the field of consumer grade projection equipment, adhere to the goal of improving user experience for research and development, and deeply focus on the underlying technology research and development and product structural upgrading.
Reporter: With a long-term perspective, how can the projection industry follow the trend of the times to achieve high-quality development?
Zhong Bo: Today, in the projection industry, Chinese manufacturing accounts for more than 75% of the world's total, and the global projection market has moved from "Made in China" to "Created in China". In the global projection market, household projection accounts for the highest proportion. The intelligence level of China's projection market has reached 88%, leading the global average. In the future, home smart projection will have great potential in overseas markets.
Today, the projection industry is going through a new stage of "building a high-quality brand and integrating into the global market". The most important thing for the industry is to improve the quality infrastructure construction and implement high-quality development.
High quality development requires projection enterprises to strengthen investment in quality management and complement weaknesses; The further improvement of quality infrastructure needs the guidance and assistance of competent units at all levels. Although Chinese projection enterprises have become the leading force in the global projection industry, foreign traditional projection enterprises have built "standard barriers" through first mover advantages. In the future, it is also necessary to expand the international influence of Chinese standards and adopt innovative methods to promote Chinese standards.
I believe that we will adhere to strict requirements on standards and quality, and actively participate in the formulation of domestic and international standards. In the future, we will also introduce a series of standards for China's emerging industries to the world.
Reporter: As a "post-80s" entrepreneur, how do you understand the entrepreneurship of the new era?
Zhong Bo: What entrepreneurs in the new era need most is to promote the spirit of independent innovation. Looking back on the road of entrepreneurship, we seized the development opportunities of consumption upgrading, new domestic products and e-commerce popularization, and broke the monopoly of foreign traditional projection brands for more than ten years by subverting the new product form of traditional projection. It is precisely because of disruptive innovation and solid investment in underlying technology research and development that these achievements have been made.
