Bohai Bank Co., Ltd "Bohai Bank") is the only newly established national joint-stock commercial bank since the revision of the Commercial Bank Law of China in 2003, the first national joint-stock commercial bank to introduce foreign strategic investors since its inception in 2000, and the first national joint-stock commercial bank headquartered in Tianjin.
Bohai Bank consists of Tianjin Taida Investment Holding Co., Ltd., Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd., China Ocean Shipping (Group) Corporation (now known as China Ocean Shipping Group Co., Ltd.), National Development and Investment Corporation (now known as National Development and Investment Group Co., Ltd.) and Baosteel Group Limited Company (now called China Baowu Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd.), Tianjin Trust Investment Co., Ltd. (now called Tianjin Trust Co., Ltd.) and Tianjin Shanghui Investment (Holding) Co., Ltd 7 shareholders initiated the establishment. It was established on December 30, 2005 and officially opened to the public in February 2006. It was listed on the main board of Hong Kong Stock Exchange on July 16, 2020.
