At present, there are two types: unshielded cable and shielded cable.
Category 6 cable system (Cat 6): a new level of cable system, whose bandwidth will be extended to 250MHZ in addition to the significant improvement of various performance parameters. Category 6A cable system (Cat 6A): a category above Category 6 cable system. In addition to the significant improvement of various performance parameters, its bandwidth will be expanded to 500MHZ, which is suitable for 10 Gigabit transmission.
Category 7 cable system: Category 7 cable system is a cable standard proposed by Europe, and its realized bandwidth is 600MHZ, but its connection module structure is completely incompatible with the current RJ-45. Due to the increase of frequency, the copper network preparation layer must be added in the outer layer. Only shielded cables are used to shield aluminum foil and outer braid (S/FTP).
Category 7A cable system: Category 7A is a higher level cable with a realized bandwidth of 1000MHZ. The structure of its corresponding connection module is not fully compatible with the current RJ-45. At present, GG45 (downward compatible with RJ45) and Tear module can be seen on the market (requires the adapter jumper of TERA-RJ45).
