Principle of air tank

Air compressor storage tank, also known as compressed air storage tank, is a pressure vessel specially used to store compressed air.

The function of the air tank in the air compression system is to buffer, make the air supply more stable, and reduce the frequent starting of the air compressor. At the same time, it is more conducive to water and dirt removal by allowing compressed air to settle in the air tank.

The basic requirements for the selection of air receiver are as follows:

1、 The volume of the air storage tank should be between 10% - 20% of the compressor discharge capacity. We usually choose 15%. When the gas consumption is large, the volume of the air storage tank should be appropriately increased. If the on-site gas consumption is small, it can be less than 15%, preferably not less than 10%.

2、 The treatment capacity of dryer and filter shall be consistent with the discharge capacity of compressor.

3、 The filter in front of the dryer shall be equipped with an automatic drain.

4、 When the adsorption dryer is used, the compressor shall reserve corresponding gas consumption.

5、 After the dryer is installed in the air tank, the role of the air tank is fully reflected, playing the role of buffering, cooling and blowdown, which can reduce the load of the dryer and be used for the working condition of the system with more uniform air supply. The dryer is installed in front of the air storage tank, and the system can provide large peak adjustment capacity, which is mostly used for the working conditions with large gas consumption fluctuations 。
