Plasticizer
close Plasticizer Molecular structure Plasticizer, Taiwan Chinese, is the plasticizer of mainland Chinese. Plasticizer is a polymer material additive widely used in industry. Adding this material in plastic processing can make it more flexible and easy to process, which can be legally used for industrial purposes. The clouding agent prepared by Taiwan manufacturers with a common plasticizer DEHP (DINP, DNOP, DBP, DMP, DEP, etc. were successively detected) instead of palm oil can also produce a thickening effect similar to that of emulsifier. However, insiders pointed out that plasticizers such as DEHP and DINP do not belong to food flavor raw materials. Therefore, DEHP cannot be added to food or even used on food packaging. "Clouding agent" is a legal food additive, which is often used in fruit juice, jam, beverage and other foods. It is made of arabic gum, emulsifier, palm oil and a variety of food additives. However, due to the high price of palm oil, which is five times the price of plasticizer, Yushen Flavor Company replaced it with cheap but toxic plasticizer DEHP and added it to the "cloud agent"; Another manufacturer, Bingham, added DINP instead of expensive raw materials into cloud forming agent. The molecular structure of some plasticizers is similar to hormones, called "environmental hormones", which are toxic chemicals listed by the Taiwan Environmental Protection Agency. If it is taken for a long time, it may cause abnormalities in the reproductive system, and even lead to the risk of malformation and cancer. Environmental hormone refers to the chemical substances that external factors interfere with the endocrine of organisms. The trace amount of such compounds left in the environment enters the body through the food chain, forms false hormones, transmits false chemical signals, and affects the hormone content in the body, thus interfering with the original mechanism of endocrine, which will cause endocrine disorders. On June 8, 2011, Taiwan announced that 961 kinds of food containing plasticizers had been detected, involving nearly 300 manufacturers. The AQSIQ suspended the import of Taiwan's problematic products to 948. In order to facilitate the public's understanding of plasticizer products, the AQSIQ released the latest list of Taiwan's problematic enterprises and products contaminated by plasticizers every day, involving 280 enterprises. The import of problematic products will be suspended.
