Bridge paint
close Railway steel bridges are generally protected by anti-corrosion coatings both at home and abroad. The coating anti-corrosion technology of railway steel bridges in China is also constantly developing and gradually improving. In the 1950s, the protection life of steel beam coating was only (2~3) years; From the late 1960s to the 1980s, red lead antirust primer and gray aluminum zinc alkyd finish (i.e. 66 alkyd finish) or gray mica iron oxide alkyd finish were successively used, and the coating protection life was increased to about 10 years; In the 1990s, the supporting systems of epoxy zinc rich antirust primer, micaceous iron epoxy intermediate paint, gray aluminum powder graphite alkyd finish (i.e. 018 alkyd finish) were used, and the coating protection life reached more than 15 years. The supporting systems of epoxy zinc rich antirust primer, micaceous iron epoxy intermediate paint and fluorocarbon finish paint are being promoted to further extend the maintenance and overhaul cycle of railway steel bridges. It is estimated that the service life of the system will be more than 30 years. Railway steel bridge coatings are used together with primer and finish to give full play to the antirust effect of primer and the anti-aging effect of finish. The following table refers to the coating varieties used at home and abroad. Table 1 is the national primer, intermediate paint and finish commonly used at home and abroad for steel bridge coatings.
