TPX
The scientific name of TPX is poly (4-methylpentene-1) monomer 4-methylpentene-1 natural color poly (4-methylpentene-1) is a highly crystalline transparent plastic with a specific gravity of 0.83, which is the lightest of all plastics. Low surface hardness, non-toxic. The light transmittance is between plexiglass and polystyrene. Combustion characteristics: it can burn and continue to burn slowly after leaving the fire, with melting dripping. Advantages The light transmittance of TPX does not change with the change of processing conditions, nor does it change with the thickness of the product. Therefore, it is suitable for transparent products. Its rigidity is large, exceeding that of polypropylene when the temperature is above 100 ℃; Over PC at 150 ℃

2. Common applications of TPX
The electrical insulation performance of TPX is better than that of polypropylene. Acid and alkali resistance, chemical corrosion resistance, organic solvent resistance, stress cracking resistance, and no other transparent materials have the tendency of stress cracking due to the action of detergent during use. TPX can be sterilized by boiling at 130 ℃ for 400 times without fogging, sterilized by hot air at 160 ℃ for 50 times in an hour, and sterilized above 200 ℃. It can also withstand ethylene oxide and radiation sterilization.
3. TPX development history
Using Ziegler Natta catalyst such as TiCl3/AlCl3/Al (C2H5) 2Cl system, 4-methylpentene can be polymerized into poly (4-methylpentene). Generally, the poly (4-methylpentene) obtained has a head to tail structure, and has an isometric stereo regular structure. The stereoregularity enables poly (4-methylpentene) to have quite high crystallinity.
