POE
Polyolefin elastomer (POE) is a thermoplastic elastomer with narrow relative molecular weight distribution and uniform short branched chain distribution, which is catalyzed by metallocene in the U.S. Dow Chemical Company. The main performance of this elastomer is very outstanding, and its performance index exceeds that of ordinary elastomer in many aspects.
1. POE classification
POE
2. Common applications of POE
The molecular structure of POE is similar to that of ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM), so POE will also have excellent properties such as aging resistance, ozone resistance, and chemical resistance. By crosslinking POE, the heat resistance temperature of the material will be increased, the permanent deformation will be reduced, and the main mechanical properties such as tensile strength and tear strength will be greatly improved. Multi purpose POE elastomer can surpass PVC, EVA, SBR, EMA and EPDM, and POE may replace traditional EPDM in the future. Due to its excellent properties, POE has been widely used in the automotive industry, wire and cable sheaths, plastic tougheners and other aspects.
3. POE development history
POE is produced by DUPONT Dow Chemical Company of the United States using INSITE catalytic technology. Compared with traditional polymer materials, it has better processing and molding performance, and does not need any plasticizer when molding; It is widely used in the automotive industry, medical, impact modifier and packaging fields.
