FTIR was used to study the chemical reaction in the preparation process of the sample, and the vulcanization properties of the compound, the water swelling properties and mechanical properties of the vulcanizate were also studied. The results showed that the CPE modified by MeAA synthesized in situ not only had good mechanical properties, but also had good water swelling properties, thus providing a new method for preparing water swelling rubber.
