Here is a brief introduction to several mainstream fieldbuses.
1. Foundation Fieldbus (FF)
This is the ISP agreement jointly developed by 80 companies such as Yokogawa, ABB, Siemens and Invensys, led by Fisher Rousemount of the United States, and the WorldFIP agreement jointly developed by more than 150 companies in Europe, led by Honeywell, in September 1994. The bus has been widely used in the field of process automation, and has good prospects for development.
Set up the field bus of the fund meeting, and adopt the simplified model (layers 1, 2, and 7) of the open system interconnection OSI of all standardized preparation ISO, namely, the physical layer, the data link layer, and the application layer. In addition, the user layer is added. FF has two communication rates: low speed H1 and high speed H2. The former has a transmission rate of 31.25Kbit/s and a communication distance of 1900m, which can support bus power supply and intrinsically safe explosion-proof environment. The latter has transmission rates of 1Mbit/s and 2.5Mbit/s, communication distances of 750m and 500m, supports twisted pair, optical cable and wireless transmission, and the protocol symbol is IEC1158-2 standard. The transmission signal of FF physical medium adopts Manchester coding.
2. CAN (Controller Area Network)
It was earlier introduced by German BOSCH company and is widely used in the field of discrete control. Its bus specification has been prepared by all ISO standards as all standards, and has been supported by Intel, Motorola, NEC and other companies. CAN protocol is divided into two layers: physical layer and data link layer. The signal transmission of CAN adopts short frame structure, with short transmission time, automatic closing function and strong anti-interference ability. CAN supports multi master working mode, and adopts non-destructive bus arbitration technology to avoid conflicts by setting priorities. The communication distance can reach 10KM/5Kbps/s, the communication speed can reach 40M/1Mbps/s, and the number of network nodes can actually reach 110. Several companies have developed communication chips that conform to CAN protocol.
ProfiBus is a kind of field bus technology used for factory automation workshop level monitoring and field equipment layer data communication and control [2-3], which can realize decentralized digital control and field communication network from field level to workshop level monitoring, thus providing a feasible solution for realizing factory integrated automation and intelligent field equipment [4] ProfiBus series consists of three compatible parts, ProfiBus DP/FMS/PA. The characteristics of ProfiBus DP and PA are as follows [1,5]:
ProfiBus DP is applicable to high-speed communication between automatic control system and distributed I/O; It can replace 24 V or 4~20 mA serial signal transmission; Use RS 485 transmission technology or optical fiber media.
ProfiBus PA is specially designed for process automation; The transmitter and actuator can be connected to a common bus, which can be used in the field of intrinsic safety; The data transmission adopts the extended ProfiBus DP protocol, and also has PA line rules.
This paper will use ProfiBus DP and ProfiBus PA communication protocols to build the process control system.
2 System Architecture
The process control system is used to simulate the collection and processing of information such as liquid level and temperature on the industrial site, PID control and real-time monitoring of control process flow. The system carries out data transmission and exchange through ProfiBus field bus, and uses MPI communication mode to communicate and remote control with the upper computer, so that the entire control system can be networked and digitized. The control system structure diagram is shown in Figure 1.
The system mainly includes upper monitoring computer, CPU, Ethernet communication module, DP link, distributed I/O and inverter DP slave station, temperature and pressure transmitter, valve positioning equipment, electromagnetic flowmeter, etc. The CPU adopts Siemens S7300 315-2 DP, which has both MPI interface with multi-point communication function and ProfiBus DP communication function [6]
