The real waterproof breathable film is not compounded with glue, so the temperature resistance is - 40100 degrees (EU CE standard, USA AS TM standard). It is not produced with polyethylene or TPO film, so the air permeability should exceed 1500g/m2/24h. It is basically airtight when produced with polyethylene or TPO film. Hydrostatic pressure test shows that the hydrostatic pressure of the thin waterproof breathable film is at least 1.5m above, and the thick waterproof breathable film is at least 2m above. Soothing aging is necessary because PP materials are easy to age under ultraviolet light. Some fake waterproof and breathable films are produced with poor recycled materials. This waterproof and breathable film is easy to age and degrade during construction.
A simple manual inspection of the surface shows that there are obvious pressing points on both sides of the waterproof and breathable film, which is because the production process is through hot pressing. Please note that it is not the dots of the non-woven fabric itself, but obvious overlapping dots. Tear off the waterproof and breathable film. First, the middle polymer layer should be a milky white very soft waterproof and breathable layer. Because it is compounded by hot pressing, there should be pressure points on the film. In addition, gently press the non-woven fabric and membrane with your hand. If you feel sticky, you can conclude that it is hot melt adhesive, and this is a fake waterproof breathable membrane.
