In addition, it is also mandatory to use environment-friendly cables in major construction.
Since 1992, a large number of commercial houses built in China began to change the wiring mode from open wire to concealed wire. At that time, the service life of domestic wires was only 25 years due to technology, process, materials and other factors. 70 years of construction life, 70 years of housing property rights and 25 years of wire and cable life are seriously out of sync, and hidden dangers also arise.
Fu Ping, deputy director of the Jinan Fire Detachment, said that if the wires and cables were out of service, they would be short circuited or tripped, and serious ignition and combustion would cause a fire. At present, some specialties in China and abroad are actively formulating new cable standards to encourage and require cable enterprises to produce green and environment-friendly cables. For example, relevant laws and regulations in China explicitly require that PVC wires and cables are prohibited in important buildings, and halogen-free low smoke cross-linked polyolefin insulated wires and cables must be used to avoid heavy smoke, chlorine and casualties in case of fire.
According to the new cable standard, smokeless, low halogen and flame retardant cables shall be used at least for high-rise buildings with a height of more than 100 meters and civil buildings with a height of less than 100 meters, such as hospitals, public entertainment places, underground shopping malls, libraries, stations, supermarkets, terminal buildings, office buildings, etc. of a certain scale.
