[Qingping's Whistle] Don't take yourself too seriously

Don't take yourself too seriously

A camel, hard through the desert, a fly lying on the camel's back, no effort, also came. The fly sneered and said, "Camel, thank you for bringing me here. Goodbye!" The camel looked at the fly and said, "When you were on my back, I didn't know it at all. If you left, you didn't have to say hello to me. You don't have any weight at all. Don't take yourself too seriously. Who do you think you are?"
Bernard Shaw, an English writer, was idle all day, playing and talking with a little girl he didn't know. When dusk came, Bernard Shaw said to the little girl, Go back and tell your mother that it was Mr. Bernard Shaw who played with you all afternoon. Unexpectedly, the little girl immediately replied: You also went back to tell your mother that Mary played with you all afternoon. Later, Bernard Shaw told others that people should never take themselves too seriously.
When Su Dongpo was young, he was full of pride. One day when I was walking on a path in the field, I met a village girl on a narrow road. The village girl carried a load of mud, and the two refused to yield. At last, the village girl suggested that she give a couplet. If Su Dongpo could give a couplet, she would be willing to give way. The first couplet of the village girl is: A heavy load of mud blocks the way. Su Dongpo heard that the first couplet was interesting, but he couldn't think of the second couplet at the moment. The farmers who were planting rice seedlings on both sides laughed loudly, which inspired Su Dongpo. Then they responded loudly: The masters on both sides smiled back. Then Su Dongpo took off his shoes and socks and made way for the village girl.
Everyone in the world thinks they are important. In fact, you may not be so important. Your business is as heavy as a thousand pounds, and may be worthless in the eyes of others; Your views are consciously insightful and constructive, which may or may not be heard by others; Your feelings, your gains and losses, and your interests may not be so important. The so-called importance is mostly self perception.
Don't take yourself too seriously. You must put yourself in the right place. Some people called Newton a genius. Newton said he was "just standing on the shoulders of giants"; Some people say that "General Peng" is great. Peng Dehuai said that "I am only one member of 600 million people"; Qian Xuesen has made great contributions to China's national defense science and technology, and is known as the "father of missiles" in China. This achievement is well deserved. However, Qian Xuesen took the initiative to "discount" his important achievements, saying that missiles are developed by everyone, not by myself, so he does not want the press to publicize me like this. Ji Xianlin told the world in his later years: Please take off the three hats of "master of Chinese culture", "academic leader" and "national treasure" from my head! These people who have made important contributions to the people do not attach too much importance to individuals, which reflects a kind of cultivation, a kind of character, and a noble realm.
Laotse said, "Those who see themselves are not clear, those who are self-sufficient are not outstanding, those who attack themselves are ineffective, and those who boast are not strong." Do not take yourself too seriously. In life, we must recognize ourselves and never overestimate ourselves; No matter where you are, don't be conceited. In fact, you are not so important, and no one is irreplaceable. You must be humble and never be complacent. You must not be arrogant when you are confident. Only by constantly improving ourselves, being open-minded and indifferent to fame and wealth, can we live with more confidence and achieve stability.
