Recently, the case that the People's Procuratorate of Tianchang City, Anhui Province, sued the Land and Resources and Real Estate Administration Bureau of the city for failing to perform its statutory duty of mineral development supervision was heard publicly in the city court. In the trial, the prosecutor of the court accused the Bureau of Land and Resources and Real Estate Management of failing to supervise the reclamation and management of the mining area of the former Xinlei Quarrying Co., Ltd., and being negligent in performing its responsibilities, resulting in serious damage to the ecological environment of the mining area involved. It is reported that this is the first public interest litigation case in the city.
