On June 15, 2021, the Opinions of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on Strengthening the Legal Supervision of Procuratorial Organs in the New Era was issued, making it clear for the first time that procuratorial organs are "an important force to protect national interests and social public interests" in the form of a document of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.

The Opinions made 19 plans in five major aspects to strengthen the legal supervision of procuratorial organs in the new era, so as to better meet the new needs of the people in the new era in democracy, rule of law, fairness, justice, security, and environment.
