On March 27, 2015, the People's Bank Department of Linquan County Procuratorate found in the process of performing its duties that two enterprises, a pig farm in Miaocha Town and a plastic particle processing plant in Wadian Town, did not have environmental protection facilities, and the waste water and waste gas discharged in the production process led to the surrounding water becoming black and greasy, the air smelling bad, and the environment being seriously polluted. After investigation and evidence collection according to law and careful analysis and research, the county procuratorate promptly issued a procuratorial proposal to urge environmental protection departments to perform their duties when they did not exercise their powers according to law, and required environmental protection departments to strengthen supervision.

Linquan Environmental Protection Bureau attached great importance to the procuratorial suggestions, and law enforcement personnel rushed to the scene in time. After checking and understanding the relevant conditions, the two enterprises mentioned above will be punished for rectification within a time limit and demolition and closure according to relevant regulations.

At present, the pig farm has preliminarily cleaned the polluted river section according to the environmental protection requirements, and added solid-liquid separators and other facilities in the sewage treatment link, so that the sewage discharge meets the environmental protection standards, and the residues separated from the solid-liquid are free for the surrounding people to use as soil fertilizer, so as to turn waste into treasure. In addition, the plastic particle processing plant has been dismantled and closed as required.
