Rooted at the grassroots level, must have more experience in their own posts

After the implementation of the reform of the military officer system, the first batch of junior lieutenant platoon leaders graduated from undergraduate courses attracted people's attention. Now, three years later, how are these young officers developing in the grass-roots units? Are they still sighing for the title of "Lieutenant platoon leader"? What thoughts do their growth experiences bring to us?
A few days ago, the PLA Daily reporter went deep into the army forces in the eastern war zone and conducted a follow-up interview with this group, hoping to enlighten the new platoon leaders who have entered the military camp and the new cadres who are about to graduate. Stay tuned.
"The line was attacked by 'enemy' fire, and your squad was ordered to quickly resume communication!" In the middle of May, the weather was getting hotter. On the field training ground of a brigade of the army in the eastern theater, Hao Zijie, the platoon leader of the communication company, was preparing for the professional test organized by the superior with the soldiers through the simulation of actual combat scenes.
Hao Zijie was the platoon leader of the second lieutenant in the lower company last year. Although this is his first time to participate in field training, he has completed various tasks in a methodical manner. He told reporters that in this brigade, before the platoon leader of the second lieutenant was promoted to the lieutenant, he would generally work hard for two years in his own post to comprehensively improve the ability and quality in all aspects and lay a solid foundation for future development.
After graduation, being assigned to the army and being directly awarded the rank of Second Lieutenant originally means that the personal growth cycle has become longer. Why does the brigade still put forward such regulations?
With doubts, the reporter came to the Human Resources Section of the brigade to ask the truth. In this regard, the head of the Human Resources Section explained: "The beginning determines the future. If the new platoon leader does not go through solid experience, he will inevitably lack stamina to grow into a talent."
According to him, after graduating from the next company, although the new platoon leader had the position of platoon leader, he mostly did the routine work arranged at all levels, and had little time and energy to think about how to be a platoon leader and how to improve his professional ability. Over time, some comrades will gradually be "marginalized". "If the foundation is weak, the ground will shake. The Tourism Party Committee issued this regulation to ensure that the new platoon leader will undergo comprehensive training in his own post, concentrate on laying a solid foundation and eliminate other interference." The section chief said.
Hao Zijie agreed with this provision: "I am a 'post-00s', I am young, and I have no grass-roots experience before the next company. I just use the two years to make up for this lesson for myself."
At the beginning of this year, Hao Zijie's company was responsible for the support task. The transport vehicle in the charge of Staff Sergeant Feng Liqiang was about to start. The company attendant had not yet arranged personnel to carry the materials onto the vehicle. Feng Liqiang was very worried. He went to ask the attendant what happened. Unexpectedly, the attendant criticized him when he called his name late.
It was clearly the other party's dereliction of duty, but he was criticized. Feng Liqiang was a little angry. As soon as the roll call ended, he took the attendant to the company commander and instructor to ask for an explanation. Although the attendant finally apologized to him, he still couldn't get over that "ridge" in his heart.
Hao Zijie soon found that Feng Liqiang was in a wrong state, so he took the initiative to do ideological work. After some emotional counseling, Feng Liqiang smiled, which finally brought the matter to an end.
At the beginning of his first visit to the company, Hao Zijie did not clearly define himself. After this incident, he felt the weight of "front-line leader" for the first time. "I solved the conflicts among my comrades in arms, and I'm proud to think about it." Hao Zijie said shyly, "As a platoon leader, I live with everyone all day, and I am more sensitive to the emotions of soldiers. If I leave my post every day to do things, it is impossible to be so timely and efficient."
Different from Hao Zijie, Chen Jiatong, the platoon leader of a second lieutenant in a brigade, is already a "regular visitor" to the training ground. After a long time of training, now she has done well in both daily work and training.
At this time two years ago, Chen Jiatong, like Hao Zijie, had just become a platoon leader. At that time, the company was stationed outside for training, and she stayed in the camp to help manage the left behind unit.
During that period, Chen Jiatong did not miss any of the tasks that should have been handled by the chief officer of the company, such as training and education, duty on duty and work coordination. At most, he had to deal with more than a dozen affairs a day. As a novice, she often lost her head and was criticized by the authorities from time to time. After several times of "ants on the hot pot" and more "hot potatoes", Chen Jiatong began to become mature, with more and more work experience, and soon stood out among the platoon leaders.
But Chen Jiatong is not satisfied. She realized that she had a long way to go in the future. Instead of growing up in a "passive" way, she would better plan actively and make the future clear step by step.
At present, Chen Jiatong's brigade is organizing pre staff training. She meets the training conditions, but has not signed up to participate. "I also want to work in the office in the future, but I always feel that I haven't had enough experience in the platoon leader position." Chen Jiatong said that taking root in the grassroots needs a process, and only by constantly absorbing nutrients downward can I thrive upward.
Pan Zhengyi agrees with this very much. He was one of the first platoon leaders to be granted the rank of second lieutenant after the reform of the officer system. Now he has been promoted to the rank of second lieutenant and will be recruited in the office. In the eyes of other second lieutenant platoon leaders, Pan Zhengyi is undoubtedly a "benchmark" for learning.
"Compared with three years ago, I am a completely different person now." Looking back at the time of platoon leader, Pan Zhengyi sighed with a lot of emotion.
Take the group training as an example. When he first arrived at the company, Pan Zhengyi often took the training materials and training plans in his hand and looked through them from time to time. The whole process was not only dull, but also inefficient. To this end, he began to secretly observe how the backbone of the monitor organized training, and learned a lot of methods and skills.
By the next year, standing on the training ground, he had thoroughly understood the training content and standards, understood the strengths and weaknesses of soldiers, and was able to flexibly use various incentive means to guide everyone to strive for the best. To the soldiers' admiration, he will also learn from the experience of his brother units in time to carry out training innovation. The company cadre commented that all the soldiers in Pan Zhengyi's platoon were "little tigers".
It is not only the aspiration of Pan Zhengyi, but also the common aspiration of other second lieutenants and platoon leaders to practice based on their own positions. During the interview, reporters met them unexpectedly on many occasions——
Some of them lead people to lay out equipment with sleeves on the training ground; Some take the lead in organizing periodic assessment on a certain soil slope in the field; Some of them had a heated discussion and exchange with the soldiers in the education class; Some of them sat under a tree and talked with the recruits... These young officers seemed to be busy with their own affairs, but they all had the same goal: to become excellent grassroots leaders.
The stars will not fail the passers-by. As the reporter left the camp, the sky darkened. "One, two, one!" Following the reputation, a team composed of platoon leaders walked towards the office building. This night, they will receive a new round of thought baptism at the "Strong Army Lecture Hall"
Experiencers say
Lieutenant platoon leader Hao Zijie——
When I was still studying in the military academy, I heard the name "Lieutenant platoon leader". Many teachers and students around me remind me to understand the policy and plan in advance, otherwise I will be a step later than others when I arrive in the army.
However, when I arrived at the company, I found that there was no need to worry about it. The grassroots is a melting pot, with endless knowledge and skills, and endless tasks. As long as you want to grow and progress, there are opportunities and stages everywhere. For the new platoon leader in the first year of the next row, adapting to the environment, roles and positions is the most important. This is the first step that must be followed in the beginning of official life.
Lieutenant platoon leader Chen Jiatong——
In the second year after graduation, I had a feeling of "standing at thirty" - removed the label of "new platoon leader", and gradually became the "small housekeeper" of the company that the comrades in arms could rely on and the "small assistant" trusted by the company leader.
The daily work of the grass-roots company is repetitive and tedious, but it can never be mastered once. Each time you perform a task, you will face different problems and challenges, which are new and unfamiliar. Some people say that hard work will lead to success. It is hoped that the new platoon leader's comrades will cherish their days as platoon leaders, take a broad view, accumulate thick and thin hair, and pave the road for growth and progress with stones full of harvest.
Lieutenant platoon leader Pan Zhengyi——
The grass roots are fertile soil. As a new platoon leader, only when he has a deep understanding of the roots and soul of the army can he tie his "first button" in his military life.
In this process, I base myself on my own position, improve my ability and quality, and understand that knowing the heart of the soldiers and solving the difficulties are the requirements of good platoon leaders, and that being capable and responsible is the criterion of the leader. These seemingly simple truths cannot be really understood without some grassroots training.
Rooted at the grassroots level, we are destined to suffer a lot and sweat a lot. But as long as we persist, these hardships and sweat will condense into valuable wealth and guide us to take the road in the future.
