Introduction to Ulanqab

Ulanqab City (formerly known as Ulanqab League) is located in the middle of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of China. On December 1, 2003, the State Council approved the withdrawal of the Ulanqab League to establish a city and established Ulanqab City. The city has jurisdiction over 1 district, 1 city, 4 banners and 5 counties, 11 banners, counties and urban areas in total, with a total population of 2728700 and a total area of 55000 square kilometers. Ulanqab City is located at the junction of the Hubaoyin Economic Zone and the Beijing Tianjin Tangshan Economic Belt. It is 320 kilometers away from Beijing in the east, 130 kilometers away from Hohhot, the capital of the autonomous region in the west, 100 kilometers away from Datong, the Coal Capital in the south, and Mongolia in the north. It is 300 kilometers away from Erlianhot, the largest land port in northern China, and 104 kilometers away from the border. Ulanqab has developed and convenient transportation. Beijing Baotou Railway, Shanghai Lanzhou Railway, Ji'er Railway, Jitong Railway and Fengzhun Railway run through the city. Construction of Jizhang High speed Railway is about to start.
