China will implement a unilateral visa free entry policy for Malaysia from December 1, 2023. Malaysia also announced that it will implement visa free measures for Chinese citizens from the same day. Five months later, employees and tourists in the tourism and aviation industries of China and Malaysia have said that the visa free measures between China and Malaysia have further strengthened personnel exchanges and enhanced mutual understanding between the two countries. Ma Nohalan, Director of the Malaysian Tourism Promotion Bureau, told Xinhua News Agency that the visa free policy had seen obvious results in the first month. In that month, the number of tourists from China reached 168000, an increase of 35.1% over November 2023.
