Australia: platypus receives health examination at the zoo rehabilitation center

People's Daily News On June 9, local time, in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, the platypus was undergoing a medical examination at the Talonga Zoo Rehabilitation Center. The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in New South Wales (RSPCA) funded the platypus rescue and rehabilitation center at Taronga Zoo. Although platypus is not officially listed as an endangered species, the latest research shows that due to water pollution, land reclamation and climate change, platypus may be on the verge of extinction. According to local media in Australia, Australia will build the world's first platypus reserve to promote the reproduction and recovery of platypus.
